cross the river

floating in her hair so gold
breaking waters soon unfold
dancing on a veil of air
now i see her everywhere

fleeting is the breath that sighs
tomorrow's when the promise dies
find a reason to postpone
or hear her music lightly drone

cross the river
siren song
not too deep
won't last long

drums

first the water hit my skin
felt it wash me deep within
next breath in i nearly drown
water makes her holy sound

cross the river don't you know
gripped by love i can't let go

cross the river
and she waves to me
she's the only thing i see

bridge

will the legs beneath me hold?
will i see the trees grow old?
clutching to a hand so tight
reach for love with all my might

cross the river
must be strong
is it love or
siren song?

once you're to the other side
freed of parts that might've died
you can add the tears you've cried
into the joining streams there

cross the river
if you dare
floating with that sunlit hair

cross the river don't you know
gripped by love i can't let go
